Artist statement:
My practice takes inspiration from medieval armour, investigating its protective qualities both physically and emotionally. I work with the transfeminine body, seeking to enhance its femininity and emphasise the figure, while creating pieces that empower the wearer.
I explore traditional mail-making techniques and combine them with contemporary approaches. By experimenting with scale, such as increasing link sizes and wire widths, I reinterpret the historically physical defensive property of mail to symbolically protect the wearer against societal challenges. The weight, texture, and temperature of the steel play a crucial role in this presentation of protection.

Collaboration with Lauren Broxton
I have collaborated externally with other creatives to gain experience and industry exposure. One such collaboration was with Lauren Broxton, a leatherworker and fashion designer based in Birmingham. After reaching out to her, we organised a photoshoot that brought together many creatives to produce a new editorial. Key themes ran throughout all our work, including the exploration of gender and the body. In this shoot, my work took on the role of a fashion decorative piece. This was one of the ways I have started to establish myself within the fashion scene, learning the versatility of my work and how it can be styled and interpreted when working with others.
