Artist statement:
I explored the concept of adornment to reveal the wearer’s vulnerabilities rather than their status, redefining armour’s historical purpose of protection into one of exposure. I reflected on my own vulnerabilities through the placement of the piece on the shoulder, broadening and emphasising it. Additionally, I embellished the piece with text from my personal diary, debossing the script into aluminium.

This wearable pushes the idea of exposure further by restricting movement. Unlike traditional armour, which was designed to allow unrestricted motion, I aimed to entrap the wearer. It compels them to remain present within a piece of jewellery specifically crafted to showcase their vulnerabilities.
